Neat industries for layout

Hi. I was browsing through the Shorpy.com vintage photo site this morning and came across these two pictures and thought they’d make excellent subject matter for model railway industries.

Hessick and Son: 1925

Really neat coal yard. The buildings couldn’t be simpler and you can see most of what you’d need to include on your layout in the one picture.

Dome Gas: 1921

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before but it looks kinda neat. The picture has a couple of really great early 20th century trucks. In the background you can easily see what looks like it would have, at some time, been a coal unloading trestle but there is a tank car placed on it. Presumably they just used gravity to unload the tank car? Anyway, it wouldn’t take much space on the layout and I think it would look neat.

Cheers
