I have ordered in a photocopy of an insurance plan drawn of the village of Mount Stewart made in 1953. This map is complete with all the trackage in the Mount Stewart area and the buildings in the town that year. I hope to trace this into AutoCAD later this week and I’ll be posting a copy of the finished product here to this blog. While looking for the map I came across many other items in the Archives from the area and it will be fun to link these up to the map and really develop a sense of rail operations in the town from this time period. Eventually I would like to start diagramming some proposed traffic movements in and out of the town.
“Stay tuned”
