From my collection of CN yard plans is this one from 1962. All the sidings listed in my earlier post should be found on this map. The image itself is low image to make it lighter to post here on the blog. I can offer some higher resolution images of this same map – drop me an email and I’ll send them to you.

Wonder if you could send a higher res map of the 1962 CN Charlottetown map you Posted?
I am just getting back into modelling and, since I now live on PEI, want to recreate bits of the run down toward Montague/Murray River on a shelf N-gauge layout. If you can direct me to other sources for down this way it would be appreciated. I was surprised to discover a turntable well in Montague, so that might be a thing to model.
Great to hear from you Tom. I’m really glad you found this blog. I’m a member of the Prince Edward Island Railway Yahoogroup and I very strongly recommend checking that out as well if you haven’t already:

I should be able to find that map and get a higher res. version over to you. I assume the email address in your comment is the one to use?
Yes…schultz@pei.sympatico.ca Thanks again for sending the higher-res track map of Charlottetown
Hi Tom. I had the scans in a Google drive and have mailed a link over to you.
Worked fine…I was able to increase the contrast in Photoshop.
I’m very glad to hear it worked. Keep in touch.
You’ll be glad to know that I scanned a few pictures, which include the yard and they’ll be posted at yourrailwaypictures.com/, likely on the Canadian Stations page.
Thanks for the note. I’ll keep an eye out on http://yourrailwaypictures.com/TrainStations/indexMaritimes.html for the pics. Sounds great!
Two pictures of the Charlottetown station and yard are at:http://yourrailwaypictures.com/TrainStations/indexMaritimes.html
and the pictures of the yard are at:

You’ll find a wealth of pictures about railway in PEI, including the locos in the barn.
A couple of the 1730s are at Travellers Rest and I took some at Kensington.
Unfortunately, mostly in black & white.
Email me if you’d like an original file from anything which interests you. Later, I’ll dig out some colour slides that I took and they’ll be posted as well.Right now, they’re into slide chests in the basement (but safe from moisture etc).
BTW the webmaster (in NS) intends to have a page on PEI later.
His address is well displayed on all the pages and you’re welcome to send him any historical rail stuff.
That sounds terrific. Thank you.
I’ll look forward to any new content.
I’ve been considering the launch of a Wiki for railroading on PEI similar to the superb one created for the Dominion Atlantic Railway. I’m trying to get a sense of whether or not there is enough material for the project. Thoughts?
Hi Chris!
I am a big fan of your PEI blog. I am interested in the railway ever since I saw it on Jim Shaughnessy’s article on classic trains.
I am also a model railroader and thinking of the PEI as a candidatw for my modelling theme.
If you wouldnt mind, i would like to have a higher resolution of this image and other track maps you have.
All the way from the Philippines,
Kurt
Hello Kurt,
It’s terrific to hear from you. All the way from the Philippines too! My friend, Shawn Naylor spent several years there too and it was Shawn that really sparked my passion for railroading on the Island. I’m glad you’ve caught the interest too.
I don’t know if you have joined yet or not but there is a terrific Facebook group dedicated to the railway:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/PEIRailway/
I have recorded your email address and I’ll send copies of the maps that I have to you directly from that. Out of respect for your privacy, I’ll delete the comment containing the address.
Cheers
Chris
Okay. thank you very much Chris. I will join the fb page.
thanks for the map too…
Kurt
I’ll copy a few more into that folder in the next few days as well.
Chris
Hi Chris,
I’m an Ontario HO modeller who recently bought a cottage on the island. Currently awaiting an RSC-14 model from Rapido Trains and want to model a yard or junction or some photos from Allan Graham’s book. Need some site plans or track arrangement diagrams. Your info is a good start. Any suggestions for further research would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew
Hi. Thanks for the comment!
Those RSC14’s are still surreal news.
It sounds like you have Allan Graham’s book. Bram Bailey’s recent book on Atlantic Canada is a superlative work. I believe it may be a more suitable resource too, in terms of era, to play with your RSC14.
Some track plans are in the Public Archives in Charlottetown but the ones in their I’ve seen would be steam era.
A superb resource I very strongly recommend is the PEI Goverment aerial photo library. They offer several era layers in there too. The images available there are wonderful and you can order massive high resolution copies of each. A few that I’ve seen of these high resolution copies are so crisp you could build your track right over top.

There is a wiki started for the PEI railway:
http://www.peirwiki.ca/index.php/Main_Page
Finally, there is a group on Facebook dedicated to the railway:

Hope these help. My PEI railway posts are all within the same categories so that may help and I’m always happy to answer any questions you might have.
Chris
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I am still waiting with bated breath for my RSC-14, supply chain issues and such. I did, however, receive a copy of Bram Bailey’s book for Christmas and it is fabulous. I’m still mulling over whether to just build a diorama of an iconic photo, or build a small shelf switching layout. I already have a substantial home layout that you can check out @,modelrailroader56 if you have an Instagram account. Thanks again for your help, the hunt is on …
Cheers,
Andrew
Good morning. I’m glad that helped. Bram Bailey’s book is good company to keep alive the interest in the subject matter and study it while patiently waiting for those super cool models to arrive. I did start following you on Insta though I’ll caution I’m an inconsistent Facebook and Insta user though I do post regularly to Prince Street’s pages on both platforms. Really neat seeing the pictures of the layout you’re working on!
