My family and I rode out bikes along the rail trail from Montague out to the junction and back. It was a great ride and a lot of fun. If you haven’t made the trip yet do so. I simply can’t imagine a more beautiful stretch of railway trackage anywhere. Many of the railroad-era industries and buildings are in place and it doesn’t take too much imagination to figure out how it would have looked when the railroad was still operating. I figured I’d share a random selection of the several hundred pictures I took along the trail this afternoon.
On the way back we had lunch at the Station Restaurant built in the restored Montague station. Not a bad meal at all. Lots of local food and the pricing was excellent. Great way to spend an overcast Sunday.
