Freight Shed Window Template

As a scratchbuilding aid I drew out a template for the freight shed windows based on the drawings by Steve Hunter in the July 2011 Model Railroader article.

The above is a sample. When I use these I’ll print them onto a sheet of file folder (card stock) and then cut out the window parts. The final model windows will be built using laminations to acheive the proper final effect. These windows, for my model of the Kennebec Central’s Chelsea station were built using this technique.

The drawings include some cutting guides to lay a steel straightedge against.

Click here to download a copy of the template to use for your own model. The template is a PDF and is scaled for 1/4″ scale (1/48).
