I have three quick posts for this evening and all from a trip to Murray River to photograph and attempt to document three existing PEIR structures, all of which will be demolished. This loss is tragic on many levels and reflects too much of what’s is wrong in Prince Edward Island but that’s a rant that really doesn’t belong here on Prince Street.
This building sits just off the PEIR right of way and is a landmark along the rail trail today. It was built as a hotel and has served as a post office and storefront during it’s lifetime. I took a pile of photographs today and am planning to do up some “as found” drawings in an attempt to document the structure for the future. Normally I try to keep pictures on the blog fairly lightweight but this one remains in fairly high resolution and size in case you’re interested in a copy for your collection.
