Cork, foam, plywood, glue, and pins.

This morning’s progress and a quick photo update to prove that even the most determined glacier can move forward.

Though the cork is stuck down using white glue, the foam has all been stuck in place using Gorilla Glue and I can’t stop saying: “I can’t remember ever being this excited about an adhesive!”

  1. I see that your layout looks a lot like mine… pink foam, white foam, cork roadbed. Somewhere along the line I even have some Woodland Scenics foam roadbed. I used Aleene’s glue from Michael’s for the foam – seems to work.

I’ll have to remedy that during the “winter” season.

    1. I’ve heard some really encouraging comments about that Aleene’s glue but I’ve yet to try it out. I often see it at Michael’s and really just need to pick up a bottle to fuss around with. If only for screwin’ around’s sake.

As for the white foam. So far the construction has been pretty much typical for me. I did make myself some promises for things “I’d do better this time” and among them is hiding the foam early and fast. To that end, as soon as I can I’ll paint the foam a generic ground cover. Even if I have to change things later at least it’s better than white and pink.

Thanks for the comment. Great to hear from you.
