I enjoyed that style of layout presentation. Not just a catalogue of what’s collected on this shelf but narrative on what we’re trying to express in this space. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore connection between a modelmaker who has clearly invested heavily into the creation of this model and an audience ready to appreciate this in more ways than just seeing pretty things.
The layout itself is built to Proto87 standards. Certainly the track looks terrific. Not described in that standard though is the careful ballasting that appears here. I guess we all have something we look for and ballast is, I guess, my thing. The ballast is nicely swept into place and looks like, in model, every bit capable of providing the secure foundation it needs to be – it’s job.
